"Schwanengesang" (Swan Song), D. 957, is the title of a collection of songs written by Schubert at the end of his life and published posthumously.  Set to poems by Ludwig Rellstab, Heinrich Heine and Johann Gabriel Seidl, the aptly titled "Swan Song" dwells on the theme of love and longing.  In this concert, we will pair excerpts from Chinese poet Xu Zhimo's works with "Schwanengesang", interweaving the songs with readings of Xu's poems and prose, taking the audience on an intensive journey down the road of love.
