More than 1,000 young musicians have participated in AYO over the past 20 years and now work around the globe. They have been invited to return to Hong Kong to form an AYO 20th Anniversary Alumni Orchestra. Together with this year's Asian Youth Orchestra and the Hong Kong Music Summer Orchestra, the combined orchestra will perform Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique (the same repertoire performed at AYO’s inaugural concert in 1990, conducted by Lord Yehudi Menuhin) at the Hong Kong Coliseum as a spectacular finale to the Hong Kong Music Summer and the Asian Youth Orchestra's 20th anniversary celebrations.
